Cabbage Beef Bake (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1 medium onion, diced
02 - 3 cups shredded cabbage
03 - 1 pound minced beef
04 - 1 cup cooked white rice
05 - 1/2 cup broth made from beef
06 - 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes with liquid

→ Seasonings

07 - 1 teaspoon of salt
08 - 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
09 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder

→ Topping

10 - 1 cup cheddar cheese, grated

# Instructions:

01 - Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Spray or butter a 9×13-inch pan to stop sticking.
02 - Get a big skillet, set it over medium heat, and sauté the onion and ground beef for roughly 5-7 minutes. Make sure the meat browns completely and the onion softens. Drain any extra grease.
03 - Season the beef with some garlic powder, pepper, and salt. Mix it all together well.
04 - Spread half the shredded cabbage on the bottom of your greased dish. Add the beef mix on top of it, followed by the cooked rice and canned tomatoes with their juice.
05 - Put the rest of the cabbage as the final layer and pour the beef broth evenly over all of it. Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake for about 45 minutes.
06 - Take off the foil and sprinkle the shredded cheese across the top. Pop it back in the oven uncovered for 10-15 more minutes until the cheese looks gooey and bubbly.

# Notes:

01 - Swap ground beef with turkey if you'd like a healthier choice.
02 - Feel free to try other cheeses like Monterey Jack or mozzarella.
03 - This can be prepared in advance and stored in the fridge before baking.
04 - Keep leftovers in the fridge inside a container with a lid for up to 3 days.
