Best Thai Peanut Sauce (Print Version)

Smooth, sweet-savory peanut sauce with just the right flavors. Quick to make and uses common ingredients you likely already own.

# Ingredients:

→ Sauce Base

01 - 2 tablespoons lime juice
02 - ⅓ cup creamy natural peanut butter
03 - 2 tablespoons maple syrup
04 - 2 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari

→ Flavorings

05 - 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
06 - 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
07 - 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce

→ For Consistency

08 - Add 1-2 tablespoons water if needed

# Steps:

01 - Start by grabbing a bowl. Toss in the peanut butter, soy sauce or tamari, lime juice, maple syrup, and sriracha. Use a small grater or microplane to add the minced garlic and ginger.
02 - Whisk the bowl's contents until you’ve got a smooth blend. It’ll look pretty thick at this stage.
03 - To get a thinner texture, pour in 1 tablespoon of water and stir. Want it even runnier? Go slow and mix in another tablespoon, one at a time, until you’re happy with how it looks. Be careful not to overdo the water so it doesn’t get too liquidy.
04 - Take advantage of the sauce right away as a dip, dressing, or drizzle. If you’re saving it, transfer it to a sealed container and pop it in your fridge for up to 5 days. In the fridge, it’ll thicken, so either let it warm up over time or add water to loosen it up when you want to use it.

# Helpful Notes:

01 - Stick with natural peanut butter that’s just peanuts and salt for the best outcome.
02 - If you’re out of peanut butter, go for almond butter, cashew butter, or tahini as a replacement.
03 - Want a soy-free option? Sub in coconut aminos for soy sauce or tamari, and sprinkle in some extra salt if needed.
