Cajun Salmon Shrimp (Print Version)

Seared shrimp and salmon swimming in a cheesy Cajun cream sauce with spinach.

# Ingredients:

→ Creamy Cajun Sauce

01 - 5 tbsp butter, unsalted
02 - 1 tbsp plain flour
03 - 2 tsp spicy Cajun blend
04 - 1 tsp smoked paprika
05 - 1 cup heavy whipping cream
06 - 1 cup broth from chicken
07 - 1 cup shredded Jack cheese (Monterey)
08 - 2 handfuls fresh spinach

→ Fish and Shrimp

09 - 4 salmon portions (about 4 oz each)
10 - 1 lb large shrimp, tails off and cleaned
11 - 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
12 - 2 tbsp butter
13 - 1 tbsp cooking oil

# Steps:

01 - Melt butter and stir in flour and spices. Pour in cream and broth, let it bubble gently for 10 minutes until it thickens.
02 - Rub Cajun spice onto salmon pieces. Cook in a skillet for 3-4 minutes each side, checking the inside reaches 145°F.
03 - Toss shrimp with seasoning. Cook in the same pan for 2-3 minutes per side.
04 - Blend in Jack cheese and spinach with the sauce. Heat until the greens soften and the cheese mixes in.
05 - Mix seafood into the sauce, sprinkle parsley if you want, and enjoy right away.
