In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and salt.

In another bowl, combine the milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Gently fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined to form a batter.

In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and ground cinnamon for the filling.

Fill each muffin cup two-thirds full, layering and swirling half of the cinnamon mixture into the batter before adding the remainder of the batter on top.

Bake in the preheated oven for 18–20 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.
