Buttery rye bread, ground beef patties, and melty cheese make this sandwich an irresistible comfort food.

# Ingredients:

→ Patty

01 - 1 pound ground beef
02 - 3/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
03 - 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
04 - 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

→ Sauce

05 - 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
06 - 2 tablespoons ketchup
07 - 1 tablespoon real bacon bits
08 - 1 teaspoon sweet relish
09 - 1 teaspoon white sugar

→ Assembling

10 - 6 slices rye bread
11 - 6 tablespoons butter, softened
12 - 6 slices cheddar cheese
13 - 6 slices Provolone cheese

# Steps:

01 - Thoroughly butter one side of each slice of bread. Set aside.
02 - Combine the ground beef, pepper, salt, and onion powder in a bowl. Mix until the spices are evenly distributed. Shape into three patties matching the shape of the bread.
03 - Preheat a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 2-3 minutes per side. Reduce heat to low and continue cooking for an additional 5 minutes until the patties are uniformly brown. Check internal temperature with a digital thermometer; it should reach 71°C (160°F).
04 - In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, bacon bits, relish, and sugar until well blended. Set aside.
05 - Heat a second skillet on medium-low heat. Place one slice of bread (butter-side down) in the skillet. Layer with two slices of cheddar cheese, a cooked patty, and two slices of Provolone cheese. Spread the sauce on the unbuttered side of a second bread slice, placing it sauce-side down on top of the cheese.
06 - Cook each side of the sandwich in the skillet for 2-3 minutes until the bread is lightly toasted. Repeat the process for the remaining sandwiches.
07 - Remove the sandwiches from the skillet, serve, and enjoy.
