Creamy Cajun Sausage Pasta (Print Version)

Make a creamy pasta dish with andouille sausage and spice in under 30 minutes for an easy, satisfying meal.

# Ingredients:

→ Main Components

01 - 2 cups (8 ounces) dry bowtie pasta
02 - 1 (13-ounce) package of andouille sausage, sliced into rounds

→ Sauce Base

03 - 1/2 cup of heavy cream
04 - 1 (14.5-ounce) can of chicken broth
05 - 1 (10-ounce) can of Rotel tomatoes with chilies

→ Seasonings & Cheese

06 - 1 teaspoon of Cajun seasoning
07 - 2 cups of shredded cheddar
08 - 1 tablespoon of minced garlic

# Steps:

01 - On medium heat, brown the andouille slices in a large pan for around 5 minutes. Set the sausage aside on a plate, leaving the fat in the skillet.
02 - Sauté the garlic in the leftover sausage grease for a minute. Pour in the cream, broth, canned tomatoes, and Cajun seasoning.
03 - Mix in the dry pasta, cover with a lid, and let it cook on low heat for about 14 minutes until tender.
04 - Stir the sausage back in and slowly mix in the cheddar until it’s completely melted.

# Helpful Notes:

01 - Swap out spicy sausage or tomatoes for milder options for a less fiery flavor.
02 - Feel free to add veggies like mushrooms, onions, or peppers.
03 - Be mindful with extra spices since both the sausage and broth are salty.
