In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and well combined.

In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the milk and egg to form a smooth batter.

Using a spoon, scoop out small portions of the cream cheese mixture and roll them into balls. Place the cream cheese balls on a tray and freeze them for at least 1 hour. This will help them hold their shape when frying.

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pan or fryer to 350°F (175°C). Dip each frozen cream cheese ball into the batter, ensuring it’s fully coated. Carefully drop them into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

While the bites are still warm, roll them in cinnamon sugar for an added sweet touch (optional).
