Crispy Sesame Cabbage (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Cabbage

01 - 1/4 tsp salt
02 - 2 tbsp butter
03 - 1 tbsp avocado oil
04 - 1 tsp pepper
05 - 1 full head of cabbage, cut into four pieces
06 - 2 tbsp water for steaming

→ Sesame Sauce

07 - 2 tbsp sesame oil
08 - 1 tbsp sambal or chili oil (optional)
09 - 1 tbsp honey
10 - 1 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
11 - 2 tbsp water
12 - 1 stalk of green onion
13 - 2 tbsp oyster sauce
14 - 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped

# Instructions:

01 - Heat up a cast iron pan with a lid, adding avocado oil, on medium-high.
02 - Place cabbage into the pan and cook till the edges brown nicely. Add butter, sprinkle salt and pepper over while cooking.
03 - Turn the heat to low after all sides are browned. Pour in water, put the lid on, and let it braise for around 5 minutes.
04 - Stir all the sesame sauce ingredients together inside a bowl.
05 - Test if the middle of the cabbage is soft by poking it. Cook for a few more minutes if needed. Once the water's gone and cabbage is soft, stir in the sauce till it's all combined.

# Notes:

01 - You can cook this in an air fryer at 350°F for about 20 minutes.
02 - Keep the center of the cabbage intact to avoid it falling apart.
03 - Skip sambal or chili oil if you prefer less heat.
