Heat up a cast iron pan with a lid, adding avocado oil, on medium-high.

Place cabbage into the pan and cook till the edges brown nicely. Add butter, sprinkle salt and pepper over while cooking.

Turn the heat to low after all sides are browned. Pour in water, put the lid on, and let it braise for around 5 minutes.

Stir all the sesame sauce ingredients together inside a bowl.

Test if the middle of the cabbage is soft by poking it. Cook for a few more minutes if needed. Once the water's gone and cabbage is soft, stir in the sauce till it's all combined.
