Hamburger Helper Fix (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1 cup of cheddar cheese
02 - 12 oz of macaroni (roughly 2 ½ cups)
03 - 1 pound of 95% lean ground beef

→ Aromatics

04 - 2 garlic cloves, chopped finely
05 - ½ a yellow onion, finely diced (roughly 1 cup)

→ Liquids & Sauce

06 - 2 cups of milk (choose any type)
07 - 2 tablespoons of cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon of water to create a slurry
08 - 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
09 - ½ tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
10 - 2 cups boiling water
11 - ¼ cup tomato paste (about 4 oz)

→ Seasonings

12 - 1 ½ teaspoons of salt

# Instructions:

01 - In a big skillet, cook up the ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium-high heat. Stir occasionally until the meat turns brown. This usually takes around 6 to 8 minutes.
02 - Add macaroni, hot water, milk, tomato paste, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, cornstarch slurry, and salt into the skillet. Let it boil, then bring it down to a low simmer. Cover and let it cook for 10 to 12 minutes. Stir every couple of minutes so the pasta doesn’t stick to the pan.
03 - Take off the lid and stir the cheese into the pot. Let it cook for another 1 to 3 minutes, until the sauce thickens and looks how you want it.

# Notes:

01 - Stir frequently so the pasta won’t stick to the pan.
02 - As it cools, the sauce will naturally thicken more.
