Crispy Rice Squares (Print Version)

Crunchy, pan-fried sushi rice bites. Perfect for snacking or paired with toppings.

# Ingredients:

→ Base

01 - 1 ¼ cups water
02 - 1 teaspoon salt
03 - 1 cup sushi rice

→ To Season

04 - 2 teaspoons white sugar
05 - 1.5 tablespoons rice vinegar

→ Frying Needs

06 - ½ cup olive oil

→ Extras

07 - Furikake or sesame seeds

# Steps:

01 - Combine water, rice, and salt. Rinse until the water's clear, let cook until soft, then cover and sit for 10 minutes.
02 - After rice is ready, pour in the vinegar-and-sugar mixture and stir gently.
03 - Take an 8x8 lined pan, press the rice firmly into it, then refrigerate for an hour.
04 - Slice into squares; add a sesame or furikake topping if you'd like.
05 - In a hot pan with oil, fry each side for a few minutes until golden and crunchy.
