Gooey Cinnamon Cake (Print Version)

Soft, buttery cake packed with swirls of cinnamon and topped with a sugary glaze. Just like cinnamon rolls but easier.

# Ingredients:

→ Base Layer

01 - 1/2 cup salted butter, melted
02 - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
03 - 1 1/2 cups milk
04 - 2 eggs
05 - 4 teaspoons baking powder
06 - 1 cup sugar
07 - 3 cups flour

→ Cinnamon Filling

08 - 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
09 - 2 tablespoons flour
10 - 1 cup brown sugar
11 - 3/4 cup salted butter, at room temperature

→ Topping Glaze

12 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
13 - 5 tablespoons milk
14 - 2 cups powdered sugar

# Steps:

01 - Preheat your oven to 350°F and coat a 9x13 pan lightly with spray so nothing sticks.
02 - Grab a hand mixer and blend together flour, sugar, and baking powder with eggs, milk, and vanilla. Once mixed, add the melted butter and mix lightly. Pour into the prepared dish.
03 - Stir the cinnamon, brown sugar, flour, and softened butter until smooth and combined.
04 - Scoop bits of the cinnamon mix onto your batter. Drag a knife through the dollops to spread them in swirls across the cake.
05 - Pop the pan in the oven for about 35 to 40 minutes, or until a knife stuck in the middle comes out without goo.
06 - Mix together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Pour over the cake while it’s still warm.

# Helpful Notes:

01 - This dessert blends the sweet cinnamon roll taste with the simplicity of making it all in one pan.
02 - Tastes best fresh from the oven while the glaze is soft and drippy.
