Start by heating a large skillet over medium-high heat. Stir the bacon bits often, cooking them until they’re crispy—takes about 5 or 6 minutes.

Throw the diced onions in with the bacon. Stir everything around and let the onions soften for roughly 5 minutes.

Toss in the green beans, minced garlic, chicken broth, sugar, vinegar, butter, salt, and pepper. Mix it all up until combined nicely.

Lower the heat, pop a lid on, and let it simmer gently. Stir it now and then, and after around 10 minutes, the beans should be tender.

Give it a taste and tweak the seasoning if needed. Dish it up while it’s warm.
