Indian Spiced Rice Bowls (Print Version)

Seasoned rice bowls with garam masala meat, fresh veggies, and tangy sauce. Quick and cooked on a griddle.

# Ingredients:

→ Main Items

01 - 4 cups cooked Jasmine or basmati rice
02 - 1 lb ground chicken or lamb

→ Herbs & Veggies

03 - 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
04 - 1/2 cup shredded carrot
05 - 1 diced onion

→ Seasoning and Sauces

06 - 1 tablespoon minced garlic or garlic paste
07 - 1 tablespoon minced ginger or ginger paste
08 - 1/4 cup soy sauce
09 - 1 1/2 tablespoons garam masala
10 - 1/2 cup mango chutney
11 - 3/4 cup mayonnaise
12 - Add a splash of your favorite hot sauce
13 - 2-3 tablespoons of coconut or vegetable oil

# Steps:

01 - Set out the items you'll need on a tray (rice, mayo, hot sauce, and 1/2 tbsp of garam masala can be left aside). Warm up the griddle over medium heat.
02 - Heat the oil on your griddle and add the meat, then toss in the onions and carrots. Break the meat into smaller bits while cooking for 4-5 minutes.
03 - Stir in the chutney, cilantro, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and one tablespoon of garam masala. Keep cooking for another 4-5 minutes.
04 - In a bowl, whisk together the mayo, hot sauce, and the last bit of garam masala.
05 - Spoon the rice into bowls, pile on the meat mixture, and drizzle with your spicy mayo blend.
