Italian Style Sausage Pasta Bake (Print Version)

01 - 12 oz of pasta (penne, ziti, rigatoni, or elicoidali)
02 - 4 sausages (pork and beef), sliced
03 - 1 cup of tomato passata
04 - 1/2 cup of heavy cream
05 - 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
06 - 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
07 - 1/4 cup of diced bacon (optional)
08 - 1 small onion, diced
09 - 2 cloves of garlic, minced
10 - 1 tsp of fennel seeds
11 - Salt and pepper to taste
12 - Fresh parsley or basil, for garnish

# Steps:

01 - Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook the pasta in salted boiling water according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
02 - In a large skillet, cook the bacon (if using) until crispy. Remove and set aside. Add the sausage slices to the skillet and cook until browned and fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
03 - In the same skillet, sauté the onion and garlic until soft and fragrant. Stir in the tomato passata, heavy cream, fennel seeds, and season with salt and pepper. Let the sauce simmer for 5 minutes.
04 - In a large baking dish, combine the cooked pasta, sausages, bacon, and sauce. Mix thoroughly.
05 - Top evenly with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Garnish with fresh parsley or basil before serving.
