Heat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Pop cupcake liners into your muffin tray.

In a big mixing bowl, stir together your flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

In a second bowl, mix your melted butter, eggs, and vanilla until everything’s smooth. Slowly add the buttermilk into this mixture.

Take the wet ingredients and combine them with the dry ones. Stir gently until the batter is smooth, then carefully fold in your M&Ms.

Scoop the batter evenly into each cupcake liner. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick poked in the center comes out clean.

Let the cupcakes cool in the muffin tray for 10 minutes. Then move them onto a wire rack to cool completely. Add more M&Ms for decoration when they’re cool.
