Philly Cheesesteak Ground Beef (Print Version)

A speedy twist on the Philly cheesesteak, featuring ground beef, gooey cheese, and fresh veggies served in toasted rolls.

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 8 oz provolone cheese
02 - 1 green bell pepper, diced
03 - 1 yellow onion, diced
04 - 4 hoagie rolls, about 7 inches each, or a French baguette cut into 4 pieces
05 - 1 pound lean ground beef (around 90% lean)

→ Seasonings

06 - 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
07 - ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
08 - ½ teaspoon garlic powder
09 - ½ teaspoon regular salt

# Steps:

01 - Set your oven to heat up to 400°F and let it preheat.
02 - In a big skillet, warm it over medium heat. Toss in the ground beef, onion, green bell pepper, and your spices (salt, garlic powder, and pepper). Stir now and then for about 10 minutes, letting the veggies soften and the beef turn brown.
03 - While the beef cooks, slice the hoagies open (or divide the baguette into four chunks, slicing those open). Lay them flat on a baking tray.
04 - When the beef mix is cooked through, pour in Worcestershire sauce. Layer half the provolone slices over the beef, turn the heat down to low, and let the cheese melt for about 2 minutes. Stir it all up until smooth.
05 - Scoop the cheesy beef mix onto each of the opened hoagie rolls using tongs, spreading it evenly.
06 - Put the extra cheese slices over the top of all the sandwiches. Bake in your hot oven for 3 to 5 minutes, just until the cheese is bubbly and melted, and the bread is lightly crisped.

# Helpful Notes:

01 - This is a quicker take on a Philly cheesesteak, swapping sliced beef with ground beef to save time.
02 - Great for busy evenings when you need something filling in a flash.
