# Ingredients:

→ Meat Layer

01 - 1 cup of BBQ sauce
02 - ⅓ cup of creamy cottage cheese
03 - 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
04 - ½ cup of diced white onion
05 - 1 tablespoon of garlic, finely minced
06 - ½ cup of seasoned breadcrumbs
07 - 1 ½ pounds of ground turkey or beef, lean
08 - 1 large egg, beaten gently

→ Potato Mix

09 - ½ cup of warm milk or cream
10 - ½ cup of softened butter
11 - 2 pounds of diced, peeled potatoes
12 - ½ cup of sour cream
13 - 1 teaspoon of black pepper, freshly ground
14 - 1 teaspoon of kosher salt

→ Garnish

15 - 1 ½ cups of shredded cheddar cheese
16 - 6 slices of crispy bacon, crumbled

# Instructions:

01 - Set your oven to 375°F. Lightly coat a 9x13 baking pan with some nonstick spray.
02 - Grab a big bowl and toss in the ground turkey or beef, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, beaten egg, cottage cheese, and BBQ sauce. Stir until it's all mixed together.
03 - Spread the meat mixture into the greased baking pan, pressing it down evenly. Let it bake for 30 minutes.
04 - While the meat's cooking, boil your diced potatoes in water on medium heat until nice and soft.
05 - Drain the water once the potatoes are done. Add butter and blend until smooth with a hand mixer. After that, stir in warm milk, sour cream, salt, and pepper until creamy.
06 - When the 30 minutes are up, take the pan out of the oven. Carefully pour out any extra grease.
07 - Spread the mashed potatoes over the meat with a spatula. Sprinkle on the shredded cheese, and top with crumbled bacon.
08 - Pop the pan back in the oven for another 15 minutes. The cheese should melt completely, and the potatoes should heat through.
09 - Take the pan out and leave it on the counter for a few minutes before serving.

# Notes:

01 - For a lighter option, swap the ground beef for turkey.
02 - You can assemble this in advance and stick it in the fridge. Just bake it when you're ready.
03 - Store extras in an airtight container in the fridge. They’ll last up to three days.
