Easy Salisbury Steak (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 large beaten egg
02 - 1 pound ground beef (lean)
03 - 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
04 - 1 tablespoon olive oil, to cook
05 - 1/4 cup panko crumbs
06 - 2 teaspoons ketchup
07 - 1 teaspoon kosher salt
08 - 1/2 teaspoon oregano (dried)

→ Creamy Gravy

09 - 2 tablespoons butter (unsalted)
10 - 1 1/2 cups beef broth
11 - 1 teaspoon Worcestershire
12 - 1 tablespoon ketchup
13 - 6 ounces mushrooms, sliced
14 - Salt and black pepper (as needed)
15 - 2 tablespoons flour
16 - 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

→ On the Side

17 - Broccoli, roasted
18 - Mashed potatoes

# Instructions:

01 - In a big bowl, combine everything from the steak list except the oil. Form 4 oval patties, each about 3/4-inch thick.
02 - Warm up oil in a wide skillet on medium-high. Brown patties for 3 minutes per side. Put them on a plate once done.
03 - Using the same skillet, lower to medium heat, melt butter, and sprinkle flour. Stir until smooth and lump-free.
04 - Switch the heat to medium-low. Add beef stock, ketchup, Worcestershire, and onion powder. Blend until smooth.
05 - Stir in mushrooms and let it simmer for 5 minutes, or until the gravy thickens. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
06 - Nestle patties back into gravy in the pan. Cover and let cook for 10 minutes, aiming for 160°F inside.
