Soft Olive Garden Breadsticks (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base Dough

01 - 4 cups plain flour
02 - 1½ cups warm water (about 110°F)
03 - 2¼ teaspoons dry yeast (active)
04 - 2 tablespoons softened unsalted butter
05 - 1 tablespoon salt
06 - 2 tablespoons white sugar

→ Garlic Butter Coating

07 - ¼ cup melted butter (unsalted)
08 - ½ teaspoon salt
09 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder

# Instructions:

01 - Combine the yeast, sugar, and warm water in a bowl. Let it rest for 5-10 minutes until it's bubbly and frothy. That means it's active and ready!
02 - In a big bowl, stir together the flour and salt. Add your softened butter and yeast mixture. Knead it all for 8-10 minutes until it's smooth and stretchy.
03 - Grease a bowl and place the dough inside. Cover it with a clean towel and let it sit cozy in a warm spot for around an hour. It'll puff up to double its size.
04 - Punch down the risen dough gently to release air. Divide it into 12-14 portions and roll each piece into a rope 6-7 inches long. Lay them out on a baking sheet.
05 - Cover your breadsticks with a towel and leave them to rise again for 20-30 minutes until they look plumper.
06 - Preheat your oven to 400°F. Slide in your breadsticks and bake for about 12-15 minutes until they turn golden and delicious.
07 - As soon as they come out of the oven, generously brush them with your garlic butter. They'll taste amazing served warm!

# Notes:

01 - These oven-fresh breadsticks come out just like the ones from Olive Garden - but fresher and tastier!
02 - Plan ahead by letting the dough rise overnight in the fridge. Bring it to room temperature before forming the sticks.
