Set your oven to the temperature mentioned on the Texas toast package instructions—generally around 425°F (220°C).

Lay the garlic toast slices on a baking pan in a single layer. Bake them as per the package guide for about 5 minutes, just until they’re lightly toasted. This keeps the bread from going soft.

Take the toast out of the oven, and spread 1 to 2 tablespoons of pizza sauce on each one. Keep a small border around the edges to mimic a pizza crust.

Cover each toast with some shredded mozzarella. Add your pepperoni or any other toppings of choice. Sprinkle on Italian herbs and some red pepper flakes if you’re using them.

Place the toasts back in the oven and bake them for another 5 to 10 minutes. You’re aiming for melted, bubbly cheese and a golden, crisp edge.
