Heart Thumbprint Cookies (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Cookie Dough

01 - 2 cups of all-purpose flour
02 - 1 large egg yolk
03 - 1 cup of butter, unsalted and softened
04 - 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
05 - 1/2 cup of white sugar

→ Filling

06 - 1/2 cup of strawberry jam—or whatever flavor you love

# Instructions:

01 - Heat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and cover a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - In a big bowl, whip the softened butter together with the sugar until it’s airy and pale.
03 - Stir in the egg yolk and vanilla until it all comes together smoothly.
04 - Slowly add the flour, stirring until a soft dough takes shape.
05 - Roll out small portions of dough into little balls. Give them a slight press, then pinch the top to form heart shapes.
06 - Press the center of each cookie gently with your thumb—or use a tiny spoon—to make a small well.
07 - Spoon a bit of jam right into the dent of every cookie.
08 - Place the cookies in the oven for 10 to 12 minutes, just until the edges catch a golden color.
09 - Leave the cookies on the baking sheet until they’re completely cooled before enjoying or wrapping them up.
