French Vanilla Beignets (Print Version)

Light-as-air vanilla dough squares fried golden, dusted with sugar. Great for dessert or breakfast.

# Ingredients:

01 - 1/4 cup of sugar, granulated.
02 - Warm up 1 cup of milk.
03 - 2 1/2 cups plain flour.
04 - 1 tablespoon vanilla extract.
05 - 2 teaspoons of dry yeast, active type.
06 - 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
07 - 1 tablespoon butter—melted and ready.
08 - Vegetable oil for cooking.
09 - Powdered sugar to sprinkle on top.

# Steps:

01 - Stir together the flour, yeast, salt, and sugar in a bowl.
02 - In another bowl, whisk the warmed milk, vanilla, and melted butter until smooth.
03 - Pour the wet mix into the dry ingredients. Knead it for about 8 to 10 minutes until it feels soft.
04 - Cover and rest the dough for roughly 90 minutes until it has doubled in size.
05 - Flatten the dough to a 1/4-inch layer. Slice into 2-inch squares.
06 - Cook squares in oil heated to 360°F for a minute or two per side—they should turn golden. Dust them with powdered sugar afterward.

# Helpful Notes:

01 - They're tastiest while still warm.
02 - Check the oil heat to keep it steady.
