Delicious Vanilla French Beignets (Print Version)

Light, airy French pastry dusted with powdered sugar and a hint of vanilla. Melt-in-your-mouth sweet treat.

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 cups all-purpose flour
02 - 1/4 cup sugar
03 - 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
04 - 1/2 tsp salt
05 - 3/4 cup warm milk
06 - 2 large eggs
07 - 1 tsp vanilla extract
08 - 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
09 - 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)
10 - Vegetable oil (for frying)

# Steps:

01 - In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes, until frothy.
02 - In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture, eggs, vanilla extract, and melted butter. Stir until a sticky dough forms.
03 - Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
04 - Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
05 - Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
06 - Roll out the dough on a floured surface to 1/2 inch thick. Cut into squares or triangles. Carefully drop the dough pieces into the hot oil and fry for 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown.
07 - Remove the beignets with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil. Dust with powdered sugar while they’re still warm.
