Candied Rainbow Popcorn (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base

01 - ½ cup of popcorn kernels (makes roughly 10 cups of popped corn)

→ Candy Coating

02 - ¼ cup light corn syrup
03 - ½ teaspoon of baking soda
04 - 1 cup white sugar
05 - ½ teaspoon salt
06 - ½ cup plain water

→ Coloring

07 - Gel colorings in a variety of shades

# Instructions:

01 - Use your favorite popping method to pop the kernels. Toss out any unpopped ones and pour the fluffy popcorn into a big bowl.
02 - Put water, sugar, corn syrup, and salt into a medium pot. Heat on medium, stirring until the sugar completely melts and it starts boiling.
03 - Separate the syrup into multiple bowls, then mix each with a different food coloring gel.
04 - Take one syrup color at a time and pour it over the popcorn. Stir it fast so every piece is covered before it hardens.
05 - Spread popcorn onto parchment-lined sheets or silicone mats and let it rest until crunchy and set.
06 - When popcorn is fully hardened, break it into small, snackable pieces.

# Notes:

01 - Work on only one color batch at a time for the best results.
02 - Hot sugar syrup can burn, so be cautious!
03 - Let the popcorn cool completely before breaking it.
