Easter Rice Krispies (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Rice Krispie Nest Base

01 - 7 cups of crispy rice cereal
02 - 16 ounces marshmallows (mini or jumbo both work fine)
03 - 2 tablespoons of butter, no salt added

→ Frosting Mix

04 - 4 cups powdered sugar (add just 3 if you want it less sweet)
05 - 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
06 - 1/4 cup of milk
07 - Half cup of unsalted butter
08 - Green food dye

→ Toppings

09 - Mini Easter egg candies (like jelly beans or chocolate)

# Instructions:

01 - Rub cooking spray or butter all over the cupcake pans. Put them aside once coated.
02 - Put marshmallows and butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for about 2 minutes, watching closely to prevent overflow. Stir until smooth and blended.
03 - Dump the crispy rice cereal into the melted marshmallow mixture. Stir everything together until all cereal is well-coated.
04 - While it’s still warm, scoop the mixture into the greased cupcake pans. Use wax paper to press down in the middle, shaping each into a nest. Let them sit for at least half an hour.
05 - In a mixing bowl, toss in the butter, milk, vanilla, and 2 cups of powdered sugar. Blend until it turns creamy (takes around 5 mins). Add the rest of the sugar and green dye, then beat again until it’s the consistency and color you like.
06 - Pop the cooled nests out of the pans. Pipe on the green frosting to look like grass, and place the candy eggs on top.
07 - Let the frosting firm up a bit before serving. Dig in and enjoy these cheerful treats!

# Notes:

01 - Store in a sealed container for up to 2 days ahead.
02 - For easier removal from pans, slide a butter knife along the edges.
03 - You can use smaller cupcake pans for tiny treats.
04 - Experiment with different food dyes to create colorful nests.
