Kids' fun Easter snack (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Rice Krispie Base

01 - 7 cups cereal made from crispy rice
02 - 16 ounces marshmallows (mini or large work equally well)
03 - 2 tablespoons butter without salt

→ Buttercream Frosting

04 - 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
05 - 1/4 cup milk
06 - 3-4 cups powdered sugar (adjust to reach desired thickness)
07 - 1/2 cup butter that's been softened
08 - Green food coloring gel or liquid

→ Decoration

09 - Mini chocolate eggs, jelly beans, or other small candy eggs

# Instructions:

01 - Using butter or cooking spray, grease your cupcake pan so the treats slide out easily. Put it aside for now.
02 - Mix marshmallows and butter together in a microwave-safe bowl. Toss them in for around 2 minutes, keeping an eye on them so they don't overflow.
03 - Blend the warm marshmallows and butter together until you get a smooth texture. Toss in the crispy rice cereal, stirring until it's equally coated.
04 - Drop some of the cereal mix into the cupcake pan cups. Use wax paper to press down the centers and build up the edges to make them look like little nests.
05 - Let the shaped treats sit in the pan at room temperature for about half an hour before popping them out.
06 - Beat butter, milk, vanilla, and 2 cups powdered sugar together in a big bowl for about 5 minutes. Slowly add the rest of the powdered sugar until it’s as thick as you like.
07 - Mix green coloring into the frosting until it looks like grass and is evenly tinted.
08 - Once the nests are firm, pipe green frosting onto the top of each using a special grass decorating tip (or just a simple tip will do). Add some candy eggs to finish.

# Notes:

01 - Store these in a sealed container at room temp if you make them ahead of time.
02 - Using gel-based food coloring will give the frosting a brighter green shade.
03 - If you’re short on piping tools, cut a corner off a plastic bag for an easy fix.
