01 -
Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Either grease an 8-inch cast iron skillet really well or line it with parchment paper.
02 -
In a small bowl, mix together the salt, flour, and baking powder until evenly combined. Put this aside for now.
03 -
In a bigger bowl, use a wooden spoon, whisk, or a mixer (handheld or stand) to combine melted butter, regular sugar, and brown sugar. Once smooth, mix in the egg and vanilla.
04 -
Add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and mix it gently. Stop stirring as soon as there’s no dry flour visible.
05 -
Carefully stir ¾ cup of your M&Ms into the dough so they’re spread throughout.
06 -
Move the dough into your prepared skillet. Flatten it into an even layer using a spoon or your hands.
07 -
Pop the skillet in the oven and bake for 15–20 minutes. Look for edges that are lightly browned while the middle stays a bit soft.
08 -
Take the skillet out of the oven. Place it on a wire rack for 10 minutes to cool slightly.
09 -
Put the chocolate chips in a bowl that’s safe for the microwave. Heat them for 30 seconds, stir, and repeat in 15-second bursts if needed till the chocolate’s smooth.
10 -
Spread the melted chocolate over the warm cookie, then press the remaining M&Ms into the chocolate before it hardens.
11 -
Leave the cookie for another 15–20 minutes so it cools fully and the chocolate sets.
12 -
Cut it like a pizza using a sharp knife and enjoy. For cleaner cuts, wipe the knife in between slices.
