01 -
Stick your ice cream maker’s bowl in the freezer for a full day before starting. This step helps everything freeze the right way while it’s churning.
02 -
Mix whipping cream, milk, vanilla, bubblegum flavor, sugar, and salt in a big bowl. Stir for about 2-3 minutes to dissolve all the sugar.
03 -
Toss in a little food coloring, stirring between each drop. Stop when the pink is as bold as you'd like it. Keep in mind it'll fade slightly once frozen.
04 -
Pop a cover on the bowl and refrigerate for an hour, or even leave it overnight. While optional, this can bring out more flavor and improve creaminess.
05 -
Pour the chilled mix into the ice cream maker. Let it churn following the machine’s instructions, which is usually around 20-25 minutes, or until it thickens to a soft-serve texture.
06 -
In the final minute or two of churning, toss in most of the sprinkles (save a spoonful for garnish). Let them blend throughout the ice cream evenly.
07 -
Scoop the soft ice cream into a wide dish or loaf pan. Smooth the surface, then add the leftover sprinkles across the top.
08 -
Seal the dish with plastic wrap, pressing it tightly to the ice cream’s surface to keep ice from forming. Freeze until solid, at least 4 hours.
09 -
Take the ice cream out and let it soften for a few minutes before scooping. Add gum balls on top for a fun look, which you can snack on or skip while eating!
